balsa baits

Featured Replies

This is the last batch of cranks from for a little while.

I couldn't imagine how many hours you have put in for all the baits you post. You do deserve a break! I have been wondering if you could sell your patterns to bait companies. They look professional maybe people would be intrested in buying the baits from you or the patterns.

Robby, I sell a few baits here and there.   I just enjoy making the baits, the money I get goes right back into supplies and equipment.   I could sell more and take short cuts to speed up the process, but then the baits I make would not be top of the line.

Great work, and cool colors!  ;)

Hey BIGM you might have said this before but how do you get your eyes on the baits to look like that? Are they just decals? or do you paint them?

Ive always used the head of a nail to do eyes but of course they dont turn out the same every time.

That top right-hand color pattern is SICK......that's one of the best looking sunfish-type patterns I've seen.   Great job on the color selections!

Basscatche, I do make the eyes but that is a little secret of mine (like my rattles) I won't tell you how I do it.   Sorry about that, but I will answer just about every other question.

thats ok i got a good idea now how ya did it. ;)

How they look on the swim bait gave it away after i looked at it real good.

I got some stuff ive been playing with on the computer im gonna try. Im working on getting all the gear together to start playing with cranks, ive played with the jigs enough for awhile lol

Basscatcher, if you look real close I'm sure you will figure it out.  I found this method much easier than dotting the eyes with a nail, I never could get the eyes right with that method.

now i need to buy one off ya and open it up to find your rattles lol j/k Ill respect your secrets. Im in the racing industry, and somethings you just dont let people know.
