Just a few quick quetions about these.

#1 what size line do you fish on the 120's and 168's?

#2  What's your overall impression of these?

#3  What do you feel is the best conditions you have found to fish them?

Mind you I do fish swimbaits, but looking at these to be able to put a kicker fish or two in the boat for tournaments and really don't want to pack the bigger swimbait gear, so thinking these would be a great option.  Just want a bit more info on them and personal opinions.  Thanks in advance.

A rod with a softer tip gives a better action. You can use like any worm/jig rod. For line somethng like 12-15# is plenty for me. The lighter the line and rod the better the work.

I'm sure tonight bluebasser will give you some good info on these. He loves them and has had some great success on it.

yeah, I sent him a PM, but figured I'd also ask the community as well for different points of view.

Use 30lb braid

Why do you suggest this?

It's stronger and way more sensitive. I find it hard to fish without braid on anything. And if you are worried about the fish seeing the line a 5 foot flurocarbon leader will take care of that.

Well that answered one of the 3 questions.

Lots of strikes comes on the pause with a slack line. It's hard to be a good copoly IMO. Everyone has a preference though.

More sensitive than what? If you're comparing it to fluoro then you are very misinformed. Braid has no slack line sensitivity and that's were fluoro really shines. It also floats and that's not always a good thing for certain baits. Fluoro is more dense and sinks. It also will send a bait sailing into the next area code if you get an overrun during your cast. #30 isn't a great choice for a 1oz + bait in my opinion. Wait so H20 Xpress mono isn't the best line ever...

Yes exactly. The pause and twitch turns followers into hooked fish a lot of the time.

Think I'm gonna have to play with these and see how they swim first.  I'll have a week to get it figured out.  Thinking the smaller 120 may work really good on SM but seems some post have read the 168's get hit just as well.

I've never used the 120. I have a 168 and 200. Not bad for the money. I modded my 200 to give it a wider action using a write up I found on SU. I have #20 Cxx on my swimbait setup and that's what I throw the 200 on. I rarely use the 168 but I throw it on that setup also. It's overkill for sure.

This video should help you out.

Everything rippin said is spot on. You could fish them on braid if your dead set on it but I have moved away from braid anymore. Even getting hit on a pause you might still be alright and it would be like fishing jerkbaits I suppose. You will always be best off with glide fishing them with the softest tip and lightest line you are comfortable using. Like for example I think BB recommends throwing 250's on 17# but like the rest of the planet I am no comfortable tossing $200 on 17#. I will throw the 168's on 12 or 15 depending on what rods I have with me as you dont need anything special for them. The 200's and a 175 I will toss on a small swimbaitrod like 1-4oz I think on 17#. I like copoly for almost anything anymore and it is very very hard to beat to minute stretch and amazing sensitivity of CXX. As far as I know currently CXX is the end all of line for me as long as you have some L&L but I am looking to give some defiler a run when ice out finally comes since WRB swears by it.
