I have a pair of faintails in 580P Gray Lenses and, I'm looking to get a pair with glass lenses for fishing only. For all around fishing which is better the Blue Mirror or the Green Lenses. I also have a problem with my hinged flexing on my glasses, I think the springs or something is broke the arms touch the lenses when they didn't before. But I want another pair because I like the clarity of the lenses. Any help is awesome. TIGHT LINES

The green lenses would be better for bass fishing and shallow water. The blue would be better for ocean fishing deep water. I have had two pair of greens.

But when not in shallow water you can't see like you can see with the blue. I know u can see in deep water with the blue, but I just don't know what I need. I fish around a lot of docks and banks I reckon it's shallow

I have the 580g blue mirror lenses and they work just fine. You will be able to see well in shallow or deep water. With that said Ive never tried the green ones and therefore can't give a comparison

The blue and green is just a coating, the actual lenses are brown and grey. The green are brown and have a higher light transmission, so you can see into the water and into shadows better. The grey/blue are darker for more glare protection. Not good for shadow detail.

The blue are a little darker for places like the ocean because there is no shade.  The amber have copper colored view.  I have had both and neither are any better or worse in my opinion.  Seeing into the water isn't any different between the to, they both excel equally.  There is a chance costa will repair the glasses for 11.50. But if they think you caused the problem then they will charge you for the repair if you want them repaired. 

^^^^tim is right, the outside color is just a coating, the green is actually an amber and the blue is a gray lense, you will notice a good difference from the P to the G. The Glass is the clearest you are gonna get but save your P's for everyday use. The G tends to be a little heavy. Check with Costa on the ones you have, they have a phenominal warranty.

Before you decide on green or blue, do yourself a favor and check out the silver mirror lenses.  I have a pair of silver mirror 580g's and can tell you that they are fantastic....Copper base and silver mirror finish.  Excellent in both low-light and bright conditions.  The green and blue are way more popular, but IMO the silver mirror 580g is best you can get for bass fishing.  (I have used all 3 too, FWIW)

yes, but the rx warranty is a measly 2 years...I just went through it with them, my arms are out of whack pretty bad, I use this pair for fishing, yard work, and stuff like that. They are about 4 or 5 years old, but I am SOL on warranty. Went with wileyx last year. For what costa cost with an rx, they should replace them for life for free, but they don't.  

I kinda want a multi purpose sunglasses for when I up shallow bed fishing and when I'm way off the bank fishing ledges. Also want to use the glasses for trout fishing in the spring

I liked Amber over the copper based. Between the two I can use amber a half hour longer than copper when it gets darker.

Far as visibility goes it was little bit better but not a real big improvement

Eyesight and perception is subjective from one another though

green is for stained water and basic freshawater fishing. Blue is geared towards saltwater and clear/bluewatwe. Silver mirror is for CLEAR water like streams and very few lakes. Copper is a great choice for sight fishing. thats what the copper was designed for-costa dealer and tournament fisher

Get the green mirror. They will be plenty dark If you go out were there is no shade. But with the blue mirror there is a chance when you get in those shaded areas or wooded areas they will be a little to dark.
