Ardent Reels?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Been looking at these.  They make me curious.

I've not seen much on them.  Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Josh

They suck IMO they just aren't a performer for the money way more and better options in other brands.

Matt,

They make a huge deal about being American.  However, their reels look like the typical stuff coming out of China.

Any idea?

Regards,

Josh

I never owned one, a few years ago the Denny Brauer flipping model was a interesting concept.

I mean from a engineering standpoint..

They stopped production in America 2 years ago. You can still find the US products, but their new stuff is cheaper and performs better. Their reels are fine. Most of those reels come from one of two manufacturers, whether it's a Lews, Abu, Quantum, etc.; they're all pretty similar in performance.

I have the first model of Ardent. I like it a lot but have not gotten any more. Others have looked better to me.

I have an Ardent Edge Pro 5.1:1, and I really like it. I'll admit that it feels a little clunky, but I can sling crankbaits a mile with it, and reeling in a DD-22 is like cutting through butter.

A guy in my bass club has a few of the newer ones and likes them. Last I heard he was picking up a few more. I never got to use one though so I can't say they're good from personal experience so take it for what it's worth.

I see a lot of ardent products like rods and reels, are they any good? can anyone share their expirence with an ardent product?
