which of the following sounds the best. I just picked up a new rod for frogs and heavy applications. I have 2 reels to choose from to put on it. I know gear ratio should be higher, however what I have is Daiwa Tat at 6.3:1 and a pq 6.4:1. which one would you use for cranking and which one would you use for frogging\heavy.

If you don't have a choice, either one.

 

If you do have a choice, neither one.

I like my tatula for frogging or general heavy cover fishing, they have a lot to grab onto when your trying to horse out that trophy bass! Although you couldn't go wrong with a Pro Qualifier, try both and see which you like better for the application

neither of them are "wrong" for those applications.  were it me though, i would use the tatula for frogs (i had a few and used a 6.3:1 for frogs JUST FINE).  had a pq quite a while back, but used it more for plastics and jigs, though i'm sure it would suit you fine for cranking.  you can always slow down your retrieve while deep cranking with a 6.4:1

as said above, you can always try them both and determine which you like better.

Both are the same IPT (26").  So it really doesn't matter.
