Setting Paddle Depth Must be 5 1/2" from the bottom of the support 5 3/4" will scrap bottom and scratch pot, very critical but adjustable. But you can trial and error. YOU will hear it SCRAPE if its to close. The sound of teflon being grinded off Thats a NO-NO...

Fantastic set up.  Plus, you have a great family that seems to have fun joining in.  Are you giving any thought to marketing this system?

What sort of overall cost are you looking at in that pic?

Thanks and yes they all do. I hope to save a few bucks as 5 of us fish out of 5. At 450 5" sticks for $25.00 afer the initial cost of molds and a few cents for colors and glitter.  Plus to hand a out bags to the Jr Anglers who dont have a huge fishing budget is rewarding. Hopefully a few kids in the Jr program will get into it and who knows were it will go. My wifes grandson would make them for hours if I let him.

Cant wait till one of us catch our first fish on our own plastic.

I've looked int a patent and am tossing it around. Just the photo's and video's have turned into 9 request. Hope to get a bit more into the manufacturing after the Classic.

Where did you find the Presto Pot?  I have been looking but can't find one.  On a side note, we poured our first worms yesterday just playing around.    I could not get but about 10% of them to fill without voids.  We are still working on technique and temp control.

Walmart for all mine.  How did you pour and where were the voids? Type of molds?

I can't find them at W-mart down here....

I poured a Delmart 4.5/5.5 combo stick bait with voids in the middle.  The pot we stole from the kitchen did not pour so well.  I think if I could slow down my pour rate the air could escape.  I also poured a 4" tadpole (1 piece mold) they turned out the best, an eel looking creature, and tried a lizard several times.  I found 15 molds on ebay for 40 dollars so we were playing....What should the consistency of plastic be when the temp is correct?  Thin as water?  If you are recycling plastics when do you add them?  When do you add salt and glitter?

If the nozzel is to big it clogs the mold. You have to shoot a stream right down the middle of the molds. 350 degrees will get you plastic that comes out of the nozzel like 2% milk i would say. If you get it hotter say 355 them it's closer to water but your playing wiht fire. I find if it is smoking coming out of the nozzel its just a bit to hot.

If you are using anything bigger than1/4" hole in that  nozzle thats your problem. your putting so much plastic sown the hole it does just what the gas pump does it over fills the molds and once it does th eplastic doesnt keep going down the hole in the mold. I even notice since we have  found the largest nozzle we can use if the stream isnt going right down the hole in the mold dead center is will do that. Thats why we have a jig the mold sits against and then it's alwasy perfecty centerd over the hole and the plastic goes stright down without touching the sides. Once warm the molds do much better. We get maybe 1 bad one every 10 molds. wen we do we just put it right back in the pot a remelt.

GMAN here is what I have made to stir in a presto, this is the stronger 1/45hp motor the first one was 1/60 HP this one is rated twice as much inch pounds of torque.

yea, the jig is the trick, it holds it perfect at a 90 degree and the nozzle pours it right down the middle.
