Has anyone used Falcon Bucco casting 7' MH Mod-Fast (BCC-5-17)... I am in the market for a casting rod for my Shimano Curado 201I. ( I already have a 6'10 MH fast action casting setup.)  I have heard that Falcon rods action and power are over rated.  So I just want to make sure that if I buy Falcon's "Mod-Fast" action that I am not buying what another company would denote "a dedicated MODERATE action crankbait rod"  I appreciate any feedback

I understand where you're coming from. Quantum is bad about the rod stats. Got a MH that feels more like a M.

The action seems to be pretty accurate to me, but the power is definitely over rated. what you are looking at is probably more along the lines of a medium mod fast rod.

I have one. I'd put it in between a medium and medium heavy. Action is a true moderate fast imo. It's a great rod! I use mine for rattle baits, spinnerbaits, and spooks mostly.

Thx for the replys guys. So you would say it is a pretty descent all around rod? I am not going to be pitching and flipping into the slop with this rod, but am looking for something I can throw a spinnerbait, hardbaits with treble hooks, and some belly weighted swim baits.

Falcon calls that the "Trap Caster", it is a little more stout than their average cranking rod but it still has flex to it. I'd say it is perfect for traps, and square bills but you could throw spinnerbaits with it but I wouldn't use any spinnerbait over a 3/8oz, I don't think it would have the backbone to set a large diameter hook. The same thing for belly weighted swim baits, if you use too stout a hook or if the hook has to go through any plastic then forget that, this rod isn't super stiff, it has more backbone than their moderate but it is still softer than a fast action.

I've used mine for swimbaits,jigs, and swim jigs. No problems setting the hook. This rod has plenty of backbone imo.

I didn't recognize the numbers, but I do recognize the name "trap caster".   I've got that rod. for throwing rattle trap style baits, I think it is great.  I get good distance with it, I'm able to recognize strikes that happen at a distance and so forth.   I throw half ounce rattle baits with it.  I think it would work ok for any reaction type bait.
