Fenwick Elitetech Smallmouth 6'9" M-Xf Spinng -- What Would You Use This Setup For?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

I picked up this rod last year and paired it with a Pflueger Supreme MGX. I am really enjoying the rod and have used it for multiple applications. I'm just curious thought what you guys think applications this setup would work best at?

Thanks for your insight!

I have the same rod- weightless flukes, drop shot, shaky head, light jigs... Really endless imo, very versatile rod.

I got mine with the intent on it being a dedicated shaky head rod but after using it I started fishing tubes and then light jigs and then weightless fluke style baits, and I even throw a #5 Rapala Shad Rap with it. You look at the medium power and extra fast action and you think it is going to be ok for 2 things at best but it is the most versatile spinning rod I ever used. The length, power, and action just work well together, I can throw a 1/16oz hair jig with a tiny chunk trailer on it or a 5" and even a 6" soft plastic jerkbait with the same degree of efficiency that it is kind of scary that it is that good.

I use it for finesse plastics. I have it pair with a Pflueger Supreme XT, use SX1 braid and 8lb Invizx leader.

Mostly throw weightless senkos, wacky-rigged senkos, t-rigged trick worms, shakeyheads, dropshots, and tubes. I'll let you know if I forgot anything haha

This guy raved so much about his that I had to buy one even though I seldom fish a spinning rod.  Now I need to hook up with Dan so he can talk me into using it a bit more.  :teeth:

He's also the one who helped me take the plunge in trying out Fenwick rods and now this one is a vital part of my arsenal along with the Aetos.
