Humminbird 998 Or 999

Featured Replies

I am wanting to purchase a new unit. I already have a humminbird 798 that I am going to move to my trolling motor.

I fish primarily Pickwick lake and I have 2 navionics cards and 1 lakemaster card. The lakemaster card for Pickwick is unreal.

I want to purchase either the 998 at $1159 or the 999 for $1499.

Is it worth the price difference to get the 999? I know processor is a little faster but what else makes the difference worth the more money?

Thanks

You can get a 999 for closer to $1300 online and the 999 has a $200 mail in rebate if purchased before March 31st.

Imho, I'd get the 998 or 1199 (I have both).

At $1500 I'd save a few hundred more and get the 1199

If you don't want to do that the 998 is a great unit!

Both 998's are obsolete and are on close out sale.

The 999 is the current model and will have a longer updateable lifetime.

I just did the same thing the OP is going to do. I put my 798 on the front deck and I put my 999 on the console.

BTW  I also took advantage of the internet prices and the rebate.
