I'm looking for someone learning to build rods to build me a rod.

I need a 6'10" rod for drop shotting and for jig (1/4oz)fishing for walleye.

I'll be using 6 lb test line...8 lbs tops. I'd like a fast tip or extra fast tip and wood handle.

shoot me a PM or email me with ROD in the subject line.

(I say learning because I'm not going to knit pick it to death..I want to fish with it not frame it and look at it) ;D

If I had a few more rods under my belt, would love to help you out.  But, I am too new and for now need to keep my mistakes at home.

Know there are a lot of good builders on here that can help you out.  Could also try rodbuilder.org if you don't find what you need here.

you're not planning a trip to salt fork are you lure guy?  Ever catch any muskie over there.  It's supposed to be a good spot.  I'm down in Parkersburg and alot of guys go up there to catch one.  Their mostly trollers though.  I'd troll too if it meant a state record muskie.  That lake has produced records before.  Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack your thread I was just curious.

oops - sorry for the confusion on the rod building link - my apologies.

Thanks, flechero.

fishingdanderson, When I go for muskie, I fish Leesville or Piedmont. I truly believe there is a 50# monster in those waters or both...especially Leesville.

I catch most of my musky on regular crank baits while fishing for bass. Throwing those big musky baits just plum wears me out.:)

If you want a custom rod built for you then you need to be nit picky. That is what separate a custom rod from a rod off the shelf.  :)
I agree. There's a lot to learn with building rods.
