I have a *** reel that I have had for a few months. I've noticed during the retrieve every few handle turns I'll get a clicking sound from the reel. It doesn't feel rough or anything, it just doesn't sound right.

Anyone know what might cause this?

A single click intermittently? Look at the level wind for any type of contamination or obstruction. If can't see anything but notice the sound at the same spot on the level wind have the reel serviced and inspected for a defective or damaged worm gear and/ or pawl.
