repairing guide on Avid

Featured Replies

The epoxy over the threads on the second guide up from the reel seat has cracked on my Avid. the crack is parallel to the blank.  The guide is still in place and is not really loose, but I can move the guide and make the crack in the epoxy open up some.  What would be the best way for me to fix it?  should I just cover over it with some 5 minute epoxy or use a drop of superglue on it?  I can take pics this afternoon if they are needed.

You will need to re-move and re-wrap the guide back on. Anything other than that and there is a 90% chance that it will leak water under the finish and the wrap threads will rot and fall apart. You need to properly repair the guide don't just mickey mouse it.
