Tournament In 3 Hrs ... Can't Sleep

Featured Replies

first one of the year and I can't even sleep im so hype. All I keep doing is going over variables and telling my self to fish slower and pay more attention ... Be quieter ..: and mental review of the literature and educational tutorials I've watched over the past few off months ....... Goes back to go over tackle boxes ... For the 3rd time

I used to be that way every time I went fishing or on a trip.  Here's some hints that you may find helpful.

Keep a notepad handy when you go to bed.  When your mind is buzzing with things to remember, take the time to write it on your "to do" list.  That may keep the "do not forget" list from keeping you awake.

If possible, get everything organized a day early.  Waiting 'til the last minute, and getting everything organized just before you go to bed can keep you tossing and turning, and checking the clock every few minutes.

Make your "game plan" well in advance and make write it down as you think of things.

The less you have to think about on the eve of your tournament, or any other fishing trip, the better.  Even something as simple as laying out the clothes you are going to wear can help.

I need to take fishing rhinos advice as well I got my series classic coming up beginning of April and unfortunately I think I'll be the same way

Agreed how did you do?

Lol yea probably no sleep before the tournament and then 8 hours of fishing depending on how well he did he's catching back up on sleep

  • 2 weeks later...

He must still be asleep.

Maybe he ended up sleeping through the tournament and is embarrassed?

Downman74 said the tournament was in the beginning of April.

My calendar says it's still March.

No that's my series classic this tournament was literally 3 hours before his tournament. Completely separate tournaments

Maybe he ended up sleeping through the tournament and is embarrassed?

Or he fell asleep on the boat, missed the weigh-in and is still snoozing in the back of some cove...

That day was the first time Ive ever fished a tournament where no one caught a fish. But the following two I've placed 5 th of 25+ and 50+ boats .... Had 14lb bag on Saturday

Heck of a bag. That's something to be proud of man. Keep it up
