Any Body Fished Hunnewell Access Shelby County Mo?

Featured Replies

Ramps can be a zoo.  My favorite ramps are the ones where you make a "U-turn" into a dead end then back down the ramp.  Pretty hard for someone to cut ahead when you have to pull into the staging area to back down the ramp.

Any body fished Hunnewell Access Shelby County MO? From a yak or a boat? Smallmouth?

So many questions so little time.

Thanks !

If you are talking Hunnewell Lake Conservation Area, I've never fished it but it looks like you have to use their boats (free-first come-first serve) and they don't have Smallies in there.

Should be pretty well stocked though since there is a fish hatchery on premise.

I have fish Hunnewell since the 1970's. You have to use their boats which are free to use. 14 foot John boats. You can bring your  own motor , gas or electric.

The bass there are just like everywhere and hit the usual offerings. You dont have to fish deeper than 10 foot. It has a slot limit and I always catch a limit under the slot to eat.

Theres a lot of standing timber but most of it is not visible. If the lake is low enough , it only fuctuates a foot or two , you can see some of it. If its high , you cant see it .

Its one of my favorite lakes, easy to fish . Lots of little bass and a some big ones.

Sorry , I misread your post. You're wanting  information on the upper reaches of the North Fork on Mark Twain lake .  I have fished it as far as I could from a bass boat. I dont know if its a good smallmouth fishery or not but it is sure to have some as they are native to salt river  . The lake has changed the environment  a lot. Below the 2 dams "there is a second dam " are some small mouths.  Its definitely worth a shot .
