can i make a simple rod ( what type i am not sure of ) without all the fancy machines like wrapping machines drying machines ect.

Sure can.  you can use a cardboard box and a book for a "wrapping machine"

You can make or improvise just about everything you need to make rods...  even really nice rods.   :)

thanks i am just looking for a new hobby and i dont want to fly off the handle with all new equipment when i just get started. hopefully i can

gradually build enough skill for me to deserve the correct gear for the job.

i have read it and also spent practically my whole day reading and watching videos on how to do it. i am quite serious about this new would be hobby of mine. i have one question though would this fore grip fit on this rod?

All I see there is a link to the Fuji reel seats that I use, don't see anything except the home page for Mudhole on the second link..Don't see a fore grip at all...  :-?

You say you have been ready and watching videos do you have the book recommended in that sticky by Tom Kirkman, "Rod-Building Guide" If not, you really need to get it and read the whole thing. This is were you will most likely get your best start into the Hobby!

i have not read or purchased that book but i will defiantly look into it. i fixed the second link for the rod. thanks for all your help.

Excellent advise as usual from 'reelmech'. Kirkman's book is a must have if you have never built a rod.

I must have looked through Kirkman's intro book 50 times.  With that, Rodbuilding.org, and DG's tutorials, you should be well on your way.  Some of the stuff is still better learned on your own though.
