Won't Be Long Now!

Snow is rapidly disappearing. The hull of the small 12' boat (turned over on it's trailer) is actually snow free for a change. And the heavy carpet of snow is vanishing from the back yard. I suspect that the ice covering the ponds & lakes will be leaving just as fast. Hopefully, we'll be wetting a hull in the next two to three weeks! Hope you all have all your gear cleaned, prepped and ready to go! :)

Not sure about you fellas in the Northeast, but here in Chicago-land we are being told more snow next weekend.

A few spots that were frozen over a week ago are open running water now. The quarry by my house had 24" of ice last Friday today it's open along the shoreline. Seen 3 robins yesterday as well in a field that had some grass showing definitely won't be long.

Got this guy yesterday in one of the spots that I ice fished just days earlier but it's open now

Just got a report on the Quabbin Reservoir; Windsor Dam still has 18" of ice and Gate 43 has 23" of ice. I'm afraid it's going to be a very late season opener there. :(
