I am looking to possibly mount self adhesive LED strip lights my 1648 flat bottom Jon boat. These will be for lighting in the interior. Has anyone already did this and have an recommendations? Also, how and where did anyone mounted them and did they last and work.  Also, if people have pictures of the install to show that would be great. Thanks

They are fairly easy to mount. Pricing is all over the place. I got mine from superbrightledsDOTcom. They sell everything needed to do the job. You are going to need a switch and the proper fuse. The amp draw is pretty low, I can get more info and post pics when I get home. I don't have a Jon boat but it is aluminum. I installed them underneath the gunwales and in the storage lockers

Slonezp,

I am having a hard time determining what color you used for the interior. Is it red or yellow?

Amber. It doesn't affect night vision and doesn't attract bugs. The lockers are natural white

The self adhesive LED's should be able to mount to pretty much any surface. In my old boat, I used them to light the compartments, under the console, and also to do underglow lighting on the trailer. The cheapest ones I found were on Ebay. You could get them directly from china with free shipping for right about $3 for a 1 meter strip. Unfortunately I ordered the IP65 lights which are not as waterproof as the IP67's that I plan on using on my new boat. Therefore the ones on the trailer over the years slowly dropped LED's from the back to the front. Even so they lasted roughly 3 years. I'm sure if you spent more on higher quality ones they'll last longer, but for everything I did I spent roughly $55 in parts.
