I got a new 6 foot 6 ugly stick gx2 rod to go with my shimano reel and would very much appreciate feedback from anyone that has same rod series and its usability for largemouth bass handling action.i usually do bay and oceanbut wheelchair and no car has me landlocked for bass soon.fished 4 decades and im still learning.pic was me prior.

I am not familiar with the rod, any clue what lure rating it has as well as power and action?

you can definitely fish for bass with that rod. In the end it comes down to what types of lures you can throw and without knowing too much about the specifics of that rod, I'm sure it would do well with soft plastics and top waters as well as maybe some light crankbaits.

crankbaits are thrown for me.use to heavin 6 oz lead in bay when surf.

medium/ line rate 20 lbs and lure 1 0z....just bass fishing now stripers or larger.look up gx2 on web for data.

i am ignorant to this rating. educate me. im use to surf rods casting 6 oz lead. with gx2 i will be using a repalla crankbait.please educate me. line rate says one thing....lol....but if it hqndles 15 lb line it should deal with casting crankbaits'

You rod can handle lines within the specified rating, and it can handle lures between 1/4 and 3/4oz. When the line and the lure are both in the middle of the rating, you will (theoretically) get the best possible performance from the rod.

DT06 6' 2" 3/8 oz.   thats lure weight data. 

 

btw sadly im using 30 lb braid to not lose lure. hope im not stupid. 10 monofilament size.
