Has anyone fished Ticonderoga on this forum? I posted a post about going up north on Champlain, but have been watching videos on Youtube, and I have seen some HUGE largemouth caught out of there.. I will be going June 4th-8th.. Anyone know anything? It would be appreciated, thank you!!!!

The guys they are showing/talking about are me and my buddy. (Around 1:20 mark). I finished the day with 19.96lbs.

Tons of 4lb+ Largemouths down there. Totally different water than up north but super fun. PM me before you head up and I'll get you the latest info.

The club I belong to fishes out of there quite regularly.  There are 5 things I always carry with me when I go up there.

 

1 - Weighted senko (usually at around 3/16 to 1/4 oz) - T-rigged

2 - Mojo Rig - Green Pumpkin finesse worm (1/8oz - 3/16 oz weight)

3 - Chigger craw - 3/8oz + T-Rigged

4 - Spinnerbait - white

5 - Jig - Black and Blue with a chunk trailer.

 

The name of the game in general is the weeds.  Find the weeds and you will find fish.

It was a cold winter, with a record-breaking, all-time lowest average temperature for the month of February up here.  There is a LOT of ice on Champlain!

 

Even though it is still much colder than average (24* today and low of 10* tonight... the average is 45* high/23* low), the higher, stronger March sun is doing its job on the ice.  I drove over South Bay this afternoon and the open water area under the bridge is getting much larger.  I also noticed a big pressure crack on the south side of the bridge appears to be opening up and showing some open water.

 

It won't be long!

Southern Champlain can be amazing. It can also be very tough at times. There will be a ton of pressure out there. It is very popular in the spring. Early June the spawn should be on. Fish will be shallow. It is the perfect time to throw a frog..
