Hooks For Bullet Nose Jig Mold (Doit Bdb-5-A)

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a hook that will fit in this mold for bigger swimbaits. I use the mustad 32886 5/0 for my 5" swim baits, but they are too small for the 7" swim baits that I recent bought.

What size cavity? There are two molds that make this profile

I would have thought that a 60 degree hook would be used in that mold like the 32786. That said, you may have to find a different mold or buy a head that has the hook size you want as the largest cavity of that mold only takes a 4/0 and you are already using a 5/0 so you may be at the largest hook that mold can possibly use without modification or some sort.

Cadman, I need to use the 1/2 and 3/4 cavity......smalljaw, I have been using the 30 degree. I know it calls for the 60, but the 30 will fit in it. I don't mind modifying my mode if I can find the hook I need. I'm thinking I need at least a 7/0, and preferably a round bend.

The hook you probably are going to have to use is a 32786 in a 7/0. I do know that they make a 7/0 in the 32786. The problem I think you are going to have is fitting this in  a 1/2 oz cavity. A 7/0 is a big hook in my opinion.

Thanks for the info cadman. I've learned a lot from reading your posts on here and some other forums.........I agree the 7/0 is a big hook, but there is no way that the 5/0 would work in the 7" swimbaits that I have.

I sent you a PM
