Set Up Advice, What's Next?!?

Featured Replies

Ok here's what I have

1) st croix mojo bass 7' MH MODERATE with BPS carbonlite (cranking purposes)

2) quantum smoke 7' M FAST with lews tournament speed spool (plastics...light trig)

3) *** *** black 7'11" with *** *** (punching)

So my question is what other set up around the same price range as the ones listed above should I add to my arsenal, I feel like I need one more to be better well rounded. Plus researching and buying is almost as fun as the fishing... Look forward to hearing from you!

I'd get a 6'6-7' MF spinning rod for wacky rigging, and shakeyheads

Maybe even a 7'-7'3 MH rod for jigs and texas rigs

Brands are up to you.

Yep. You can also use that medium for jerkbaits and that med-heavy for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits.

These 2 rods mentioned are my goto rods.

Id add a drop shot set up to that list

6'7-7'1 ml fast spinning rod with a 2500ish sized reel

How do you like the 7'11" *** for punching? Do you ever use 1-1/2 ounce weights with it?

What everyone else has said! Shakeyheads, dropshots and wacky rigs! Grab yourself a 6'6'-7' Medium Extra/Fast spinning rod, a smaller sized spinning reel that balances well, some 8lb braid/fluoro leader and go wack 'em!

Get a 6'-6'6" medium for topwater, jerkbaits, and precision casting with smaller stuff.

For me I'd get a MH/F rod first over the others.  A 7' MH/F for heavier Plastics, spinnerbaits..etc.  It would compliment your 7' Medium Fast Smoke.  Then I'd go for a ML/F or XF Spinning rod to fill out your roster this will be your drop shot, small tubes, shaky heads.
