Cabelas brand rods??
For $69 bucks you will not find a better rod than the Zx... most people that fish them say they are better than any $100 rod on the market... the best part about them is the lifetime warranty.. I brought back 3 of them no questions asked and they gave me a new one..Insert came out.. stepped on one.. and closed my rod box lid on one!

To Alabama rig or not?
I only use them when I go to Toledo bend.. Never thought about going weightless... What's the shallowest water you would throw that specific rig in?? i already have the rig I may just try this!!

Your jig trailer matters
Zoom super chunk... More action than regular chunk trailer but way less action than a rage craw or a ultra vibe speed craw

What is a good buzbait?
I fish a buzz bait all year long.. I have one always tied on... I jumped on the cavitron bandwagon for a second bought 10 of them however, they don't produce in my waters like a original lunker lure, a humdinger, or the past two years a 3/16oz black and blue strike king buzz king has out fished every other brand 5 to 1... My tournament partner was using them and out fishing me from the front and the back of the boat.. I switched and have been outfishing everyone who has fished with me or I fished with since... If they not hitting the black one throw white...
- What brand mono?

BPS Stik O
I agree with a lot of these... Even though I think the trick sticks are the closest immitation and I have tried them all but nothing compares too GYBC... I beilve Academy has them cheapest that I found with out being some sort of sale

BPS Stik O
To me the closest to a GYB is big bite baits trick sticks.. You can get them in 25 pack bulk as well..

Flambeaus version
you really didn't have to comment if you didn't know unless you just wanted to be a smartass??? This forum used to be were you could ask and answer questions from people around the country who share the same interest as you. Thanks man, that's what I thought... I have some and like them...I am a believer in the z rust tabs..I'll stick with the few 3701s I have and keep on going with the silica packs

Flambeaus version
any one know if flambeau makes a thin 3700 series like the Plano 3701.. Tried searching here and Google but everything was basically "flambeau vs Plano"

Punching what do I need to know
I fish the Atchafalaya basin and that's all I punch through is thick mats of water hyacinth.. It gets real thick in the summer!!! You would be wasting time punching with out a bobber stop!!! I agree about the snell knot... I still say palomor is one of the best knots for braid... I never broke off punching..
-
Punching what do I need to know
I mentioned bobber stop..I use the bobber stop to peg the weight 100% of time ...my choice "bobber stop" is the pay check baits punch stop... Just have to order in bulk because they are always out of stock... I just use the cheap eagle claw ones for regular Texas rig

Punching what do I need to know
A lot of good info above!!! Here's my take I punch all year long! many of trips the punching rod stays in my hand all day long... Tried many of different rods best I found is a 7'8" heavy action custom rod with a weight on the butt.. Go with the least amount of weight needed to get through the pads efficiently, usually 1 1/4 for me but do use 3/4 to 1.5oz... Bobber stops is a must.. Bait of choice is a sweet beaver or rage bug... I never use a skirt.. 65lb Power pro is the best braid I found.. 5/0 hack attack hook is the best hook I found.. they don't always hit on the fall.. A lot of times there right underneath the mats.. You will be able to pattern them.. If they are underneith the Matt eating crawfish that's in the roots or what not you should Make your bait Suspend and bounce it on the bottom of the mats.. also a scented gel like Megastrike slopped on weight and bait helps it go through mats easier

Favorite 4-6' non-squarebill cranks
If it's not square bills I'm probably throwing a Bandit 200... Every where I fish has a ton of cover so the smallest line I'm using is for shallow cranks and that's 12lb... Anything else is 15lb or larger..
