  1. How do you like the 7'11" *** for punching? Do you ever use 1-1/2 ounce weights with it?
  2. In south louisiana all we fish is stained shallow water, usually 3 to 6 foot deep, give or take a few depends where your at... we troll along the bank punching matted grass, pitching ,flipping or casting at visual cover like cypress knees, trees, lay downs etc.. My question is would side imaging be helpful with these conditions? I know down imaging would not be much unless your trolling close to the bank looking for a drop off. "Like the water is 5 foot deep and drops to 10 foot" some people may call it a ditch. Right now I have a gen 1 hds 5 in the console I use for gps.. And just a lowrance fish finder at the bow that I use to look at the depth and water temp. Very new to this any information would be awesome.
  3. I was thinking about the verities because I just felt with there customer service and my experience was above average... How about that bubs punch rod?
  4. Just received some gift cards from work to cabelas and I'm in the market for a new punching rod.. Something capable of handling a 1.5 ounce tungsten flipping hook and beaver .. I really want to to stay around the 100 dollar range since this will not be a rod I keep in my hand all day... I don't own a ghost but it was looking at there 7'6 extra heavy.. I do own some omens.. They also have a heavy rod.. Any suggestions?
  5. I'm a die hard Lews fan.. I was using a tournament 6.3 on a *** black for square bills and shallow divers.. The problem is if I wasn't paying 100 percent attention I would notice I would be reeling too fast.. So I decided to purchase a 5.3 Found a brand new Quantum Smoke 150 in the 5.3 gear ratio for a 99 bucks... I know I won't be converting to quantum because I love lews but this is a nice real.. I think it Weighs 6.3 ounces and feels smooth as butter..I can't wait to use it Any thoughts on the smoke?
  6. I use my 7'1 medium fast *** for square bills which is the best rod that I have found for square bills.. I use a MH falcon BuCoo micro for lipless.. I think it's called "trap caster"
  7. Sounds good hopefully they will contact me this week
  8. If you can live with out white I would get a *** or falcon BuCoo micro..I'm in the process on a warranty claim on the veritas 2.0 and what made me choose the veritas over the ghost was plenty reviews I read that your line wears grooves in the eyes.. No matter if it's braid or floro... But with that being said I still want to try the ghost.. It looks and feels awesome
  9. Awesome news. That's really good to hear! Can you tell me how did they handle it?
  10. Heard about the guides doing the same thing? I only heard of the 1.0s breaking. The news are supposed to be a lot stronger that's why I pulled the trigger
  11. Yeah, the rod looks and feels awesome. A little tip heavy or my real was a little light but the sensitivity was there for a 100 dollar rod.. I was thinking about getting the 7'6 extra heavy for a punching rod but........... Idk I hope they don't try to make me pay shipping to send it back that's easily 25 30 bucks for a rod I only used twice
  12. Haha no kidding .. I called them And sent them pictures and everything a few days ago but they haven't replied back
  13. Never been an abu guy but I recently bought a veritas 2.0 micro guide rod. I was really iffy because I love my omens and falcon BuCoo but I really wanted to try this new version of the veritas. I bought the 7' medium heavy and put a lews tournament on it.. Used it twice never caught a fish on it and I was getting my stuff ready for the next trip and realized the bottom guide insert was cracked and the one above that was popping out.. Is this a warranty claim? Very anal about my fishing equipment I did nothing wrong for this to happen.
  14. X2 on the Mister Twister
  15. Tried most monofilaments and I keep going back to stren.. Haven't tried McCoy or sunline though
  16. Went to my local walmart they had a clothes hamper filled with rods on sale for 50% off of whatever the sale price .. Had a falcon BuCoo micro mhf for $59.99 so I bought it for $30 bucks..wish they hade more I would have bought a couple.. I took a pic of the hamper but I'm on my phone and don't know how to post pics
  17. I looked into this recently and here is the biggest thing between the two.. The micro magic has a 20 year break it and replace it warranty.. The ghost has a 1 year... As for as bob said about the eyes I was almost positive they where the same size except the ghost has stainless steel eyes with no insert.. IMHO I would go with micro magic because of the warranty.. A extra 50 to 60 bucks for a extra 19 years of break it and replace it warranty is well worth it.. Some one correct me if I'm wrong because I want one of the two soon
  18. I here ya man.. What shops in Baton Rouge are you talking about?
  19. The only thing I ever herd people say negative about the *** was the handle and the trigger..but that's rare to, I read a ton of reviews before I bought mine.. I did break mine the second time I used it but I just sent it back and they sent me a brand new one with hat and stickers.. The same hat you can buy off of TW.. The customer service was way better than average..
  20. 1. 1/4 humdinger spinnerbait white/chart./blue 2. Zoom baby brush hog junebug or red bug 3. Bandit square bill mistake color 4. Kvd 1.5 in either summer craw or neon blue gill 5. Ribbit frog watermelon red with a pearl bottom Probably my top 5 go to lures
  21. Haha sweet beavers and kinky beavers are a must.. And yes you have to split the tails .. Like he said I added another beaver style bait this year.. The missile baits d-bombs and baby d bombs..I haven't touch the sweet beavers since I started using these.. Don't get me wrong a sweet beaver is still one of my go to baits.
  22. Order from tackleware house , *** is one of the top rods in the hundred dollar range IMO.. If your budget is 100 to 200 I would meet close in the middle and go with a duckett micro magic for 160.. 20 year break it replace it warranty... A lot of people will say different stuff so it's really up to you. I would try to feel the rods before you buy You can also look at the 7 foot mh/f falcon BuCoo micro for 120.. I think it's called trap caster.. You can throw weightless baits to 3/4 oz jigs if you want..
  23. I couldn't find "the perfect square bill rod" I decided to try my 7' 1" *** *** medium fast And could not be happier.. I bought it for throwing weightless worms and Senkos but It's now my dedicated square bill rod.. I have Lews speed spool on it and fish it around a lot of timber ..it cast the kvd 1.5 so accurate.. Haven't lost a fish on it yet.. Love my square bill set up..
  24. The only spinnerbait I will throw!! I Have one tied on 100% of the time
