  1. Great looking set up can't wait for my *** to come in to put my tournament on it!! That's what I'm getting also a 7-1 mf
  2. I bought a tournament brand new for 92 bucks on the auction site!! Lews is the way to go man seriously
  3. Hey junky can you send me a p.m with the link please? I'm always looking to read up and broaden my knowledge.
  4. You don't need super high end rods man.. In sure 95 percent of the people on this forum doesn't get paid to fish.. A 100 dollar rod is perfect for the weekend angler, unless your financial situation ables you to spend more.. But we all have bugets.. I only buy 100 - 120 dollar rods right now because that's what my situation ables me to do..: With that being said.. I think it just takes a little practice.. Go with a medium fast.. And practice with it and you will become more accurate.. Don't get discouraged..if You make a bad cast, fish out as if u made a good one.. My dad used to set garbage can tops out in the yard for me with differnt size practice plugs to get more accurate.. And just like anything you do practice makes perfect
  5. What kind of reel and line are you using? That's pretty a heavy set up with that size weight, plastics and hook. I throw a 1/8 weight with 7ft medium perfect I can use a medium heavy but i am way more accurate and consistent with a medium fast.. If you are throwing a bigger bait like a 1/2 jig or spinner bait and then you pick up your Texas rig rod with a wayy lighter weight it may take a few cast to adjust.. Atleast for me it does.. My suggestion is practice throwing the weight u desire in the yard with a practice plug.. So you don't get frustrated when out on the boat...
  6. And for that price go with the veritas! The sellus is always that price.. The veritas is a 100 dollar rod that performs above that price!
  7. I have a sellus technique specific spinnerbait rod..I really like it for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits but for a worm rod I would go with the veritas... The white on the sellus faded real quick it's now a pale yellow color and I keep my rods inside when not fishing..I'm thinking about bringing it back or calling shimano. I baby all my stuff and it disappoints me every time i choose to throw a spinnerbait. Any way as far as the veritas I would go with a medium action.. To me the medium feels like a medium heavy.. They are stiff rods! Btw, sorry about your loss.. I'm 25 and my dad is a cancer survivor and the texas rig is what he taught me on..i think your dad was right texas rigs have to be the most productive weapon in the arsenal!
  8. Hydro dip would be sick.. That's all you really need to do to it!! Post pics if you decide on that
  9. I appologize, the *** isn't at dicks its at cabelas.. I knew it was somewheres around my area and I knew it wasn't at bass pro or academy.. But with the deal going on and your gift card I would get a duckett rod for 150 - 160!!
  10. They have *** *** and st croix mojo at dicks! I would go with the ***.
  11. I been wondering the samething but im going with abrazx for all bottom balts:: The way i look at is Invizx is good for clear water, right? I don't really fish clear water.. So why wouldn't I get the line with better abrasion resistance? It's still floro so it is still less visible than other line.. Do they they cast the same on a baitcaster? Correct me if I'm wrong please! I have been wondering the same thing.. But I making another order this week and abrazX was on the list!
  12. Red shad June bug Watermelon red flake Red bug--- been killing them lately with red bug trick worm on a shakey head or Carolina rig and a red bug baby brush hog t-rigged
  13. I like Stanley ribbit frogs with a double take hook... Frog fishing is fun!!
  14. one of my confidence bait is a baby brush hog but this year I been having success with the space monkey... I consider these creature baits
  15. Love the sweet beavers! Junebug is my favorite color.. I think they came out with a new one called the kinky beaver, have you tried that yet?
  16. Slam dunk lures out of Baton Rouge Louisiana... He was the originator of the humdinger spinnerbait but he sold it to another company many years ago..no his bass trap spinnerbaits are great... The sacalait color (what people not from the south call crappie) is killer here in southern louisiana
  17. I have one of the Plano spinnerbait boxes.. I have used for jigs but never spinner baits because I am scared of bending the wire down to latch it on expensive spinnerbaits.. Does it affect the spinnerbait in any way??
  18. I have been using dirty jigs for awhile now and I reallylike them but my next order i will try the siebert outdoors .. They look Awesome and have awesome reviews
  19. How do yall store/bring spinner baits and buzz baits when fishing on the back or someone's boat?
  20. What's every ones favorite swim jig trailer? What size trailer on what size swim jig? I have been liking the Skinny Dipper by reaction innovations Im pretty sure it's 4.5 maybe 5 inches long.. Trimmed down to what I think is appropriate.. I don't really throw any swim jigs above 3/8 oz but do own some dirty jigs 1/2 oz.. I like to see what every body else's favorite or favorite at this point in time.. it Seems like swim jigs are the hot topic on this forum right now
  21. We like to fish piers with lights on them shining on the water.. The lights brings bugs, bugs brings small bait fish and small bait fish brings the bass!
  22. Head lamp just to tie your lures on if you decide to change from what you pre rigged at your house.. Your eyes adjust eventually..expecially with a bright Moon.. Just make sure your running lights work, head lamp/flash lights with extra battery's, and down here in louisiana we need heavy mosquito dope with a lot of deet... A q-beam/ spotlight for running to your fishing spot .
  23. It will be hard to find a bad review!!! I was iffy at first.. I'm a believer now... I even got my dad away from the curado, he bought a lews and loves it..
  24. I was in the same boat as you I couldn't make up my mind.. I got it down to veritas micro, mojo bass or ***..I was in search for a Texas rig rod to throw no heavier than 1/8 weights... After tons of research I just ordered the *** *** 7-1.. And being I will be throwing a really light rig,I chose the medium.. Sorry I can't tell you how i like it yet but many guys on here can.. And it's almost impossible to find a bad review on them any where on the Internet!
