Spawn Vs Pre Spawn

Definitely, pre-spawn. They are still feeding then. Fish on their beds don't feed. They will defend the nest by removing threats, but aren't eating.

^^Yup^^ I agree..

Without a doubt, pre spawn. Once the fish are locked on to the beds, catching is always a chore. Not that it can't be a chore catching pre spawned, there ar plenty of instances that will turn them off, but there will still be periods of feeding activity. When they are active and roaming you have a much better chance of hooking up.

Pre spawn fish, and then you get post spawn fish which are both much easier to catch then spawning fish.  Always fish somewhere to catch other then beds.  Think some people fish for spawning fish simply because they can see the bass they are trying to catch instead of looking to locate those fish that aren't.

I agree, my favorite time of year is pre spawn because it's a rare chance to catch a bass of your life time.

There is one exception, you can see bass on beds and know exactly where they are and what size. I don't intentionally target big bass on beds, seeing them lets me know where they are in the area.

definitely pre spawn, but during the spawn is my favorite time to fish

Pre-spawn for sure. Today water temp was only 52 and they were flying after the baits.

Buck bass are a breeze to catch on beds, but if you want to catch a decent fish, better fish pre spawn
