New River Monsters Tonight

Featured Replies

I know that the episode is midway thru right now, but is anyone watching it?  I love this show!  Jeremy Wade is an absolute savage of a fisherman!

This episode showed how tough musky fishing can be. I knew he would do one over musky before long they are top of the line predator awesome fish.

can't believe he landed that big fish on that light tackle like that.

I enjoyed how he got into the psychological side of f fishing and how he was just trying to get his confidence back by targeting something he felt would be easier to catch. He also said if it was easy it wouldn't be fun. For me it is a good reminder and perspective for the times things are not happening on the water.

Its pretty funny watchimg him go for wolf fish

I can sympathize with hooking into that fish. Couple years ago I was fishing for bass(go figure), when I hooked into one that was between 3-4 feet. All I could think was, "Crap, I've got this on 8# line". This was actually my first time fishing in approximately 15 years, and still getting back in the swing. I fought it for about a minute, then it ran, I pulled, and *snap*. I just slumped over and looked at my line and my buddy just says, matter-of-factly, "Your drag's too tight..."

Just catching up on it now.. thank god for the dvr..

Love the show but I do get tired of the same formula though.

Wade is an amazing fisherman.  He not only can fish a huge range of species but he actually learns and adapts to the culture where he fishes.  I often wish I could walk in shoes for a week.

Also, if you watch some of the episodes back to back, he always seems to be wearing the same blue shirt and gray pants.  I think I remembering hearing it was what he wore to bring good luck. Strange I know but I have seen too many episodes.
