My Newest Build

Featured Replies

My latest build, it started life as a paper weight or an 80%er that I milled at a buddies shop. The rest is as follows: All assembly was done by Basement Tactical, well by me in my basement.

DD lower parts kit

Geissele SSA trigger

LaRue buffer tube Kit

Magpul ACS-L stock

BCM M4 Upper receiver

BCM Gunfighter mod 4 charging handle

BCM BCG

BCM KMR 13" hand guard

BCM 14.5 ELW fluted barrel (pinned FH makes it 16.1")

BCM LoPro gas block

Smith Vortex pinned flash hider

Magpul MBUS sights

Primary Arms micro red dot sight (only until I can afford my Aimpoint Micro)

1 upper!! Lol. Basement tactical I like that. Nice. Does MD allow full auto? I was trying to find some affordable free floats for mine. I even almost bought that same butt stock today to replace mine. I didn't know anything about other magpul accessories till after I order mine. I went to SSG tactical around my way but nothing I was interested in. Couple of rails but cost is crazy high and can get parts cheaper else where.

How was completing that 80% lower? I am considering getting a few myself to complete. I have been looking at completed uppers just for the sake of easy install, but may piece those together as well.

Btw...anyone ever use one of the polymer lowers? I am considering one for my wife to shave some weight off.

And I guess I have to get a low profile gas block. Our installing both easy?

This 80%er was real easy because I was able to use a buddies million dollar cnc mill, but I've done a few others with a jig and a drill press. I'd say it's a fairly easy process if you just take your time and only try and cut a little at a time. As far as the polymer lowers I would suggest you don't go that route, they ALL have issues with them breaking in half right where the buffer tube attaches to the lower. There's not a whole lot of material there so IMO there's no real fix for that problem. The gun in the pic is just over 6lbs as it sits in the pic with an empty mag, kinda feels almost toy like in weight. Oh and no we're not allowed full auto, MD is not the most friendly gun state.

Thanks for the info. Good to know about the thin material area on the polymer lowers. Looks like I will just get an extra 80% to work on for the wife and keep it as light as possible. Michigan is gun friendly, but not full auto friendly. Gotta move to Kentucky if you want that friendly.

That's a really scary gun for Maryland
