Loomis Rod Power

Featured Replies

I'm looking at the new E6X drop shot rods, there are two models offered, a Mag Light and a Mag Medium, I normally fish a 1/4 weight when dropshotting, what would be the better option?

Agree, I have the 820 ,I use it mostly as a ned rig rod but 1/4 oz is no problem, I believe it would fish a 3/16 shakey head well also. It has a suprising amount of power ..

Chris, when fishing a drop shot all you do is lift the rod tip to set the hook.

A Mag Light should be OK unless you are going to up the size of your bait and/or fish in heavy structure.

It's not bad to overload a drop shot rod within reason when fishing mostly vertically. Once the weight is pinned to the bottom, a light tip is nice to feel light baits and bites.

I'm just wondering because I fish around a bit of grass and like to fish a Texas rigged hook, I hardly ever fish it vertical, usually cast it.
