Rod For Flippin And Pitchin

Featured Replies

I have a 7'6" Team Daiwa Light and Tough Telescopic Flipping stick that I adore, but I would like to have a 2nd stick so I can have a jig and plastic both ready for flipping and pitching.  Not looking for anything longer than 7'3"...  I am strongly considering the Heavy action *** *** Black, but also interested in looking at the Duckett rods.  Any suggestions?

Since Flippng and pitching is pure horse power I don't use real expensive rods.

For 20# fluoro

BPS Extreme MH 7' fast 3/8-1_1/2oz

For braid

Berkley Lighting shock 7' MH Fast 3/8-1_1/2oz

Shimano Sellus MH 7'6" fast 3/7-1_1/2oz

I don't fish big heavy matts up here though.

To clarify, I dont fish anywhere with really heavy mats.  I also have quite a few MH rods and not any Heavy, which is why I am leaning toward heavy.  But I dont know if a heavy would just be overkill.  I have a 7'3" MH ***.  Anyone have experience with the 7'3" H ***?

If you don't have a heavy rod then I would recommend a heavy. Better to be overpower for the cover than find some heavier cover than you thought you would find.
