St. Croix Mojo Bass Jig N Worm Rod

Featured Replies

I have a st.croix mojo bass jig and worm 6foot 6 rod pairs with a revo sx 7:1:1 Was wondering what other uses I can use this rod for? All new to casting rods and don't want to loose fish.i keep Missing fish on crankBaits. I have been using mostly worms and jerk baits on it any other lures that would be ideal for this?

I also have a field and stream 6 6 rod medium fast rod with a revo s 6:4:1. I use this for Anything really.

I am in the market for new rod and reel looking at a lews speed spool but want a rod that I would be better for a different type of lure them these two.

That mojo is way too stiff for a crank bait.  Use the other rod for cranks and loosen the drag a bit.  Use the mojo for t-rigs, jigs and maybe spinnerbaits.  If you do happen to pick up another rod, then maybe get a crank bait rod.  You can use your field and stream rod for plastics.  With those 3 rods, you'd have the basics covered.

Sounds good what would you guys recommend for a decent cranking rod? 6:4:1 reel would be fine right I can always just slow up reeling in.

6.4 should work for general cranking.  The mojo bass glass rod is good crank rod for the money.  Also the bps crankin stick.

If I pick up a crank bait rod I can use that for pretty much anything wo treble hooks correct suspending jerk baits lipless cranks? Them use the mojo for worms, jigs, t rigs and spinners and the field and stream for... Other plastics

That mojo makes a good buzzbait/spinnerbait rod.

Add frogs, topwater walking baits, and other tip down applications.  I never really liked that rod for jigs or worms, mostly because I prefer a longer rod.

If your looking for a good all around the Mojo Plastics has served me well.  Since you have two short rods already, go longer and pair with a fast reel (7.1+).

now ranger why would you pair it up with a 7:1. I was looking at a lews lfs 6:8:1. im really looking for something for jerkbaits and crankbaits

I have that Mojo rod, perfectt for jigs and t-rigs, especially in close quarters. Paired with a 7:1:1 okuma Helios it's great. A crankbait rod may be too soft for jerk baits. You will want something with a faster tip...I use a 7' M St Croix legends or jerk baits.

i will actually pair that up with my field and stream rod found out after looking up it is a jerkbait rod. i will get a crankbait rod for my revo and will be pretty well suited for most lures with my 3 set ups!
