Jig Heads For Ripple Shads

Featured Replies

Looking for jig head recommendations for fishing the ripple shads. Preferably something available on bass pro as I need a few more $ to get free shipping lol. Just not sure with which option or hook size to go with the 2,3,4 inch models.

Try the KVD Swim Jigs, 1/4 ounce or 1/2 ounce depending on how deep your fishing. This would be for the 4 inch model and maybe the 3 or 2 inch models. I hope this helps!

For 2" you will probably need a crappie jig to keep from interfering with the tail action. For 3in I like a #1/0 hook. For 4in I step up to a 3/0. All standard round bend jigs. I make my own but bps should have them.

I like the Buckeye JWill swimbait heads for the 4".  For the 3" a jighead with a 1/0 hook.  Never fished the 2" Ripple Shads.

I use them as trailers on swmjig and chatterbaits. Cut the head off right behind the eye and your ready to rock. You can get like 50 fish out of one trailer they last so long. Also I only use the big size ones.

I just use a round, ball head jig, walleye like them too.

I agree very good heads for a swimbait!
