I've been searching the book for rock bass regulations but I cant seem to find any. Going to a lake tomorrow where they are abundant and huge. I think they are great table fare but I cant seem to find anything on them as far as size and # to keep. Can anyone help?

I enjoy fishing there as well. Have had several 100 fish days up there, just not all bass. Even had a 5-8 up there last year.

Topwater bite has started to pick up since the water temps started dropping, wake baits and poppers. This was last week when temps first started dropping.

Mine were in original bag, out of sunlight, in my tacklebag, in compartment in my boat under a cover. Didn't matter. I like them, I'm successful with them, but this is unacceptable.

TRD, big TRD, Frogs, craws, minnows, etc.... just a quick grab from the boat.

Considering i just lost 15 bags plus worth of z-man baits, im pretty irritated right now. All in their original package, in a tackle bag, in the boat, in storage, under a cover.... All melted. I'm not quite sure what i can do different but I'm pretty PO'd right now and not sure i want to replace them.

Id definitely recommend the Hamburg Cabelas over the Bass Pro. The fishing section is probably 25% or more bigger at the Cabelas. Its the same distance for me as well and vary between the two. I enjoy the BassPro just for the Chinese restaurant just on the other end of the lot.

Theres a guy on YouTube EliasV fishing I think his name is, consumes a ton of fish. People started questioning his health after the amount of fish he consumes so he got tested. His mercury levels were well within normal range. Take it for what its worth. . .

That's strange, I know cabelas advertises them as every day low price 2.49. I fished them a ton this year and had to fill tackle boxes a few times. Our in store walmarts have very poor selection for color and are atleast a dollar more a pack.

Our local stores never have them, plus the prices are always inflated vs cabelas who has them for 2.49 always.

I love the rod, I use the ML myself before starting to upgrade to the HMG. I haven't had much success however with Okuma's budget reels. Their Ceceilio is a great rod for trout for 20-30$, but just haven't found anything in the reel department worth purchasing. Possibly wait till BF and grab the rod and president reel for 100-110?

I use a fenwick eagle ML with a president xt paired with 15 lb braid and love it. Its a fantastic combo, I am buying my buddies a couple for Christmas presents this year.

I just fear losing so many bites as this is ultra clear water.

Ha, now I feel stupid. Brain wasn't working. I have a large amount of small ones that I use for trout, but only two larger ones (shadow rap shads).

Yeah I was having the same problem thus the search. And a picture of a bait, without a name, does me no good.

Unfortunately the lake was drained a few years ago with very few holdovers so the size just isn't there yet. And if I hate losing a few 5-6 dollar lures, not sure id be comfortable with something 5 times that much.

The local lake I've been fishing is loaded with pickerel, and I keep losing baits. I've switched to fishing mostly soft plastics, and while its helped, I feel I'm missing opportunities for quality fish by limiting lure selection. Its a very clear body of water and color selection really seems to matter. The main forage is perch, what are some of your favorite perch style/colored baits?

Has anyone fished Deep creek? Vacationing there next month and will be shore bound.

How was the trip, I go up a few times a year. My last trip had 4 lb smallie and 34" laker 5 minutes apart.

So my buddies and I want to take a trip up for Salmon on Thursday, but im not sure if the gear I have is going to be strong enough for some of the fish you could potentially run into. I only have spinning tackle, and just wondering what rod and line (lb test) you'd recommend?

What consequences will I face if I just fish the rod that is now 6 inches shorter? I imagine a stiffer tip may cause a few problems?

Ive never high sticked or boat flipped a fish. Its not something easily done in a kayak, I net everything.

I'm getting frustrated, as a fisherman on a budget I cant quite seem to either buy quality or luck. This is the 3rd rod Ive had break in 2 years. Granted, two last year were cheap ultra lights for trout fishing, but this was a less then 2 month old rod (11+1+1). The fish took me under the kayak and snapped the top 6 inches off. They want me to ship the broken rod, and pay return shipping which would cost nearly 50$ by the time I get a container to ship it back in. Can I use a broken rod? How many per year do you break? Should I switch to ugly stik?

Just curious as to the consensus here on Ned rigs. Are the mushroom heads essential? Do you see any noticeable difference with a TRD vs a cut senko?
