Hey Guys! Ive been fishing for bass fishing for almost 2 years now in some local private ponds. I've had massive success on topwater baits and worms but over the winter I had no luck at all until I tried a Rat-L Trap. I was just wondering if lipless crank baits will work all year long or if they're just a winter exclusive lure. I was also wondering what brands and models of lipless cranks you guys would recommend with sizes and colors. Thanks!

I use lipless baits all year - Different presentation & in different locations but they work for me.

 

The Original Rat-L-Trap works OK but I do prefer the SK Red Eye Shad - has a killer shimmy on the fall.

I don't use them much, but over my experiences,

yes, they will work year around.

 

I agree with A-Jay that Strike King's work better than

the original Rat-L-Traps, but they're good enough to 

get the job done.

Actually Rat'L'Traps are more accepted in the other months than in winter. Winter is a bonus .

Personally I like Rat-L-Traps

Bill Lewis rattle traps are solid.. So are a couple of other brands.. Blue back / chrome is always a solid choice. I always have a trap rigged..

My favorite thing to fish is a lipless CB. Even when conditions aren't "right" if I'm not catching them, I will ALWAYS try a lipless. Its a confidence bait for me.

I'm a fan of the SK redeye with VMC hooks. Sexy Shad, Red Craw Chart, Chart baitfish, and Bad To The Bone are my favorite colors. One of the better baits out there.  Great for locating fish. Cover as much "fishy" water as possible. A top bait for catching to big one!!!!

Red eye shade work well but I rarely use them anymore. They are so easily throw off balance from anything on them and it gets super annoying when your fishing grass or dragging it.
