I have bought some replacement skirts but I can't figure out how to get them on my jigs. The jigs have rattles attached and I can't get passed them.

  I can find a lot of instructions and videos about skirts and putting the bands on. Then they say put it on your jig and you are done...it must be magic or something.

 

You can use a pair of needle nose pliers.

 

Slip the skirt / band onto the end of the pliers and carefully open it up sufficiently to slide it into position over the rattle and behind the jighead.

 

The other option is to tie the skirts onto the jig yourself.

There is a three pronged tool that was used back in the day for this reason. It would spread the rubber collar in three directions so you can put the skirt on. You can try needle nose, but the collar will probably slip off. Your only quick solution is to hand tie them on. What type of head does the jig have?

 

 

Thanks guys, I may try to hand tie but I'm not sure my hands and fingers will cooperate .

 

I should be able to do this.
