Have You Tried The "chicken Rig"

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has played around with the chicken rig at all. Look it up if you haven't heard of it, seems pretty neat.

Lol Funny name,  Never heard of it before.

I tried it at KFC once...it was alright.

I like the Donkey rig myself..

I use it with Keitech Shad Impact. Rig it with Owner J LIght hooks. Spinning rod. Works well I call it the popcorn rig though. Dont like the name chicken rig and it kinda darts around and never falls in a predictable fasion.

A chicken rig is probably the fore runner of a drop shot rig.  It has been used in saltwater for decades, primarily used with cut bait like squid or shrimp.  A sabiki is pretty much the same thing too, it's used to catch live bait.

Gary Yamamoto's "new" rig, Kut worm, center hooked, with a nail weight?

...or are you talking about the bait rig, which I've used, otherwise, I have not used Yamamoto's rig?
