Megabass Zonda 68R

Featured Replies

After pondering getting a JDM baitcasting reel for throwing the finesse baits I came across a smoking deal on the Megabass Zonda. I have bought/ traded for many high end reels in the past but have never held yet alone fished with something this light and or this smooth. I have had to tone down my casting style due to the reels ablity the throw light baits at and incredible distance.

Does anyone here use this reel? If so what are you using it for, rod type and action, lbs of line, ect?

How light are you throwing? Although it can throw light lures well, it's not a true finesse reel due to the spool is not very shallow. It's a very nice looking reel and very refine as well. Nice pick up. I have only used mine once so far but glad I got one. I was using it for 1/4 Oz paddle tails.

I have one and like he mentioned it's not a finesse reel. My Px68 will do a way better job of throwing light baits. What is your definition of light too?

Mine is paired with a Dobyns Dx 704 and #40 braid. Kind of an all purpose setup for me.

Its a spool thing. The stock spool is deep and works great for cranks and jerks. The aftermarket zonda spool will go lighter than the pixy upgrade spool. I see them for sale around 125. A new one will run 200.

I've used my zonda for jerkbaits on 15lb test and a dobyns 704cb
