So, on Monday, I am planning on going to this pond that I know about that I don't think anybody has fished in for YEARS.

 

The owner dug it about fifteen years ago, and stocked it with trout, so I don't even know if it has any bass in it?

 

This ponds is surrounded in cattails and stuff like that, and I don't know if the fish will be really spooky or not?

 

Need some tips and stuff for how to fish it!

Just walk around, looking down for snakes, and throw what ever you want.

 

You can start with search baits as crankbaits or go for finesse with a flip and pitch rig.

 

If there are largemouth bass in the pond you will find out.

 

But before you go, check out how to fish for trout so you can bring some tackle and go after them if there are no bass in the pond.

 

Let us know what you threw and the results.

Snakes are the worst thing that I will be scared off....

I used to fish a little pond with a buddy that was kinda like yours. It was on some of his family's property. Way off the main road, smack dab in the middle of the woods. Kinda treacherous to get to, but we caught bass on just about anything we tossed in there. We would go through bags and bags of senkos. Very fun fishing. Snakes everywhere though. Hanging on tree limbs, the whole 9. Just be careful and pay attention to your surroundings. Have fun!!

Senkos and spinnerbaits are my favorite starting baits. If there's not a ton of vegetation/wood I'll switch to a lipless from the 'bait. 

Inline spinners will catch bass and trout. I would start there.

My #1 choice as well, bass jump all over them, I've been catching quite few over 18-20" on them.  How deep is the pond and what's the vegetation like?  I would also have with me flukes, they can be fished as a topwater or further down in the water column, can't go wrong with senko.  I wouldn't take any thing else.
