Hey all,

Anyone have any recommendations for an awesome video series idea I came up with for this summer? I mean how to format the videos, and the gear I need. I've always been obsessed with catching the nastiest, biggest, toothiest fish out there, and I've also always been obsessed with extreme new ways of fishing. So, my goal for the summer is to find a guide who's willing to take me out to use handlines to catch big stingrays, barracudas, groupers, and of course, sharks. So, let's hear some ideas!

You sure you're going to have the muscle to handline a shark in?

I have thought with all this technology on the modern bass boat, why don't they just rig up an electroshock unit and shock em up.

I have lots of barracuda experience, they're small compared to sharks.  These fish strike at speeds upwards of 30 mph, I would recommend your healthcare premiums are up to date.

Years ago,the best shark fishing captain in the area was pulled overboard  by a shark and died. An impending storm was moving in fast  and he tried to hurry  the catch.RIP  Capt Billy

Target the smaller fish.

Just make sure the line doesn't wrap around your hands or feet.

Maybe hand line a Muskie first.

A 25# muskie has the power to pull your arm out of the socket on the strike.  First hand experience, sharks get much bigger than 25# and are very powerful.

Did you give up on the idea? Saw Scott Martin hand lining Goliath Grouper the other day.  :eyebrows:

Yeah, kinda :)

I'm getting a Penn Senator and a stand-up rod though. We'll see if I can't get a few sharks in the river down here. As for the goliaths, was he using a handline with a hook, or just teasers?
