Virginia Beach Angler Looking For Bank Fishing Spots

Recommended Posts

17 year old angler here without a boat, canoe, or kayak.

I'm looking for nice places to fish from the shore. Mainly looking for largemouth bass. If you don't want to publicy give away your spots shoot me a PM and I'll keep it secret!

So you're down in the VA Beach area?

Have a look at this site - the Tidewater area:

http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/waterbodies/?type=1&region=1

I've driven by several publicly accessible lakes in the VA Beach area

when on the way to soccer tournaments. Unfortunately I'm on the

Peninsula and don't know the names or sites.

Thank you for your help, but a lot of those Lakes are best fished with boats and have limited shore access. The only one on that list that can be applicable to what I'm looking for is Trashmore Lake. I was thinking about heading up there but fear the fishing might not be good because of the pressure it gets. I was wondering if anybody knows about little ponds and what not that many do not know about that produce good bass fishing.

I went to Trashmore Lake to day and hooked a bass on a crankbait but he got away with my lure. I also lost a lure just by casting it. I probably didn't leave enough line down to cast with but I am sick of losing lures. I don't know if it's the old line I'm using or my sub par knot tying abilities.

I've seen a few local anglers bring up the Gieco office in my recent searches. Do you now anything about the fishing there?

I know that this comes a little late but I'll give you my take on Lake Trashmore and Lake Windsor (the lake behind Tmore, which is brackish water). Lake Tmore has decent bass, my PB is just under 4lbs. 2wks ago a guy released a 6+ lber he landed @ the north end by the docks same area for my PB. Pattern around the docks is standard worms or creatures (pit boss) along the west shore 8-12' diving cranks. a lot of work - Lake Windsor is good fishing, lot of bank runners but strong fighters. Tide flow brings a lot of bait fish in there. There are double digits bass in both lakes. I've had my share of five bass limits over 15lbs in my own 1 man tournaments. Lol
