Trashmore Lake is worth checking out, it's stocked by the DGIF I believe.

Your best bet, if possible, is to go into retailers and try out rods in person and pick what you like best.

Texas Rigged has always been my #1. Shakey heads work well for finessing as well as Split Shots. Carolina Rigs for bigger worms and deeper applications especially if you're looking to cover water.

I have a question for those who own a Fury rod: I've seen many purchasing the 735. May I ask what Mag Heavy power is? What lures and techniques would fit that rod?

I was thinking about the 703 since it seems to fit what I want to do. I don't do much frog fishing and I really don't fish in any real nasty stuff.

I'm in the market for a ~100 dollar rod and these two rods are my top two choices. For anyone who has handled both of these rods, which one do you think is the better of the two?

I went to Trashmore Lake to day and hooked a bass on a crankbait but he got away with my lure. I also lost a lure just by casting it. I probably didn't leave enough line down to cast with but I am sick of losing lures. I don't know if it's the old line I'm using or my sub par knot tying abilities.

Thank you for your help, but a lot of those Lakes are best fished with boats and have limited shore access. The only one on that list that can be applicable to what I'm looking for is Trashmore Lake. I was thinking about heading up there but fear the fishing might not be good because of the pressure it gets. I was wondering if anybody knows about little ponds and what not that many do not know about that produce good bass fishing.
