Was at gandermountain today and was looking at discount 30 % off rod rack. Saw a mother and teenage son walking towards my area. The son says wow 30 %off then the mother says no keep walking you already spent 120 dollars at bass pro I don't even kno why we are here! My first thought was holy crap 120$. Then I thought the mom should calm down at least he has a passion for somthing. Haha. Could be into worse. And I'm a believer if a kid saves his own money up, he can spend it. But then again if she paid the bill she has a point. Why are you in gander mountain after you spent 120 a bass pro. That was somthing from my day that stood out and kinda made me laugh. Don't kno why, just thought I share.

That's kinda funny. Maybe she was trying to bond with him or something :).

Just curious, what rods where on the rack?

That is what I was looking for.  Disappointed.

His money he spends it on what he wants.

Her money she spends it on what she wants.

Mostly last years gander mountains rods. But there was also some abu garcia veritas.they went for I think 80$. I bought a Gander Mountain GSX Tournament casting rod for 27$ originally 80 went down to 49 then 39.

i say spend away also.  a bad crack habit will cost you ten times that  in money...and ur soul :eyebrows:

You sure it wasn't my wife you overheard??

Same opinion as others, if mom is paying and she already spent $120, he's lucky. If he's paying, she can still encourage him to implement a savings strategy, but if he has the money, it's a much better habit than some others.
