Scratched Blank

Featured Replies

Got a blank in the mail the other day SC5 66MLF. Love it but upon inspection noticed there are some scratches on the blank. Pictures below.

I'm at a loss here as to what to do. Built it? Send it in for warranty? Is it compromised? Asthetics aren't important to me. I can live with it if it won't affect performance.

If it would be underthe grip, i'd ignore it. It does look significant, not something that would buff out with scratch-x or a similar product. I'd call the manufacturer or supplier. IMO,it shouldn't be a warranty thing, it's something that should have never been sent in the first place.

It's about 2 1/2 up the blank. I can get the tip of my finger nail in it. Supplier said they can refund and send it back and buy another at full retail. St Croix hasn't seen the pics but said it's my choice. I dunno at this point.

If you're doing a split grip, it will show. Send it back. Full grip, build on!

X2 if it's 2 1/2" fron the butt. 2 1/2', send it back. BTW are they covering shipping? I agree it should never have left the shipper's.
