What Rod For Freshwater Fishing?

Featured Replies

Budget? Type of Rod? Cmon buddy you have to give us more then that.

LOL. 500$ for a rod? Are you an enthusiast. If you are, then Tackle Tour might help you a bit more.

Any rod in the $200+ range will be more than enough.

You are probably gonna want 2 separate rods for dropshots and jigs/worms.

Something around 7' and a ML action spinning rod for the dropshots and around a 7' MH action casting rod for the jigs/worms.

LOL!  On a serious note I don't want to pay no more than $120.

Flipside gave you good suggestions, if you can buy 2 rods on a 120.00 budget. Otherwise, if you wish to go with one rod, then perhaps a medium fast action would be a good compromise for the 2 techniques you mention.

Go with the Okuma C3-40X. Its on sale at TW. You can get it for 90$, while it retails for 165$. I have one, and it is amazing. Absolutely love it. No rod except the Tatula probably can touch it in that price range.

I don't care for freshwater rods unless they have a foregrip.  I use inshore rods for my freshwater fishing.
