Replacement Trebs For S-Waver 168?

Featured Replies

I straightened a hook out on a giant the othe evening and was wondering about a good replacement size/brand hook. Also a little off the topic but what hook do you recomend for top hooking hudds? Thank You.

eh....don't fish that stuff in central IL... :)

#2 on the waver I believe and #2 for a top rigged hudd as well.

Most will say owners st66. I prefer gammy 4x or st56 or st41 in owners personally.

I use 3x owner st-56 #2 trebles for 168s. I lost about a 4lb fish due to the stock hook straightening on a 168 and from then on I have replaced the trebles.

I'm the odd man out. St-36 in 1/0 for me. Absolutely no reason to go to a 3x treble. I've never had an issue with them pulling.

I landed a 50-60lb grass carp on a 168 S-Waver with St-36s without straightening them. I'm sure a 3X would maybe be okay but I'd be worried about messing up the glide of the bait, especially since it's a smaller bait.
