Looks good. Anyone know of any model you really like? I like this one because you just lay it in there, you don't have to hook it with velcro or something.

I've got the rapala Lock-n-store, or whatever it's called. It's pretty sweet. Only holds six rods, but you can get however many you want to expand the rack. Super easy to install and not too expensive.

That could work, too, but some reviews, some people are saying they are too close together and your reels might make it such that you can't use all six slots.

I haven't had any issues filling it with six combos. Four baitcasting and two spinning. You have to rotate the reels ever so slightly sometimes, but it's not been a problem for me.

After looking for a while I just went to home depot and bought a few pieces of 1 x 2 and some dowels.  It seems to work well and holds them fine.

 

That homemade rack is awesome.  I'm gonna build one just like it.

I built a home made ceiling rack to address my surf rods (9-13') and flipping sticks (8') then took the Berkeley vertical rack idea and built my own (all built out of 1x4) with the rods spaced to accommodate the reels...

But I've got a 24x30 2 story shop out back so room wasn't a concern....

I prefer a vertical rack myself. I built mine 4'wide and holds 11 rods with reels no problem. It was cheap to make out of 2 8' 1x6. It was about $6 a board at lowes for treated boards. I was more concerned with price than appearances. I got the plans from minwax under a google search for diy rod racks. I just adjusted the spacing between the holes to work better. My next one will be with a 1x10 sides and be able to hold rods on both sides.

Yep. I just modified it a lil to suit my needs. Stretched it to 4' wide and skipped the pegs on sides. Also spaced the notches out to 4" center

Great custom rack!

I used 1x4 wood and drilled into it, and used 2 inch pvc and screwed it down. Out of the way and doesn't take up much real estate.
