New Aldebaran Vs Old

Featured Replies

for those of you that have used the new Aldebaran, is it that much better than the old? Looking at a brand new old model for $230, and the new model for $270. Is it worth the extra cost?

Get the old one now and the new one later. I have not used the new Ald yet but I just took delivery of an old model this morning and I am glad that I did. My only regret is that I waited so long to get one. I like it so much that I bought another one this morning.

I prefer the older Aldebaran. Its more solid, I think it casts further, and at 5.5oz, it balances better with most rods.

I like the new one better. Its smoother and casts light lures better. It is a little noisier on the cast though. But yeah, get the old one while you can. The new one while be around awhile, and the yen seems to keep dropping.

Where are you folks finding them for the best price?

Thanks, I wasn't sure if was from any of the Japanese fishing sites.

I paid $264.99 apiece for both of mine from Fisherman Samurai on eBay. I know that I could have bought it cheaper but I took into account the sellers rating and how many negatives in a one month period and also shipping time and method. I ordered my first last Friday I think and it got here this morning and then I ordered another. Needless to say, I am one happy dude right now.
