Hi all. I am new to this forum. I am interested in making my own jigs and powder painting them and what not. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to get the lead from. Where to get the weed gaurds from (the fiber strands or already made weed gaurds). Where to buy the paint from and where to get the skirts from or how to make the skirts. I am trying to find the cheapest way to make them so any information would be awesome.

I get my hooks, powder paint, and weed guards from Barlows tackle.  I get my skirt material and bands from fishingskirts.com.  They also have a skirt making tool for $4 that makes putting skirts together quite easy.  As for finding lead, here is a link to another thread.

I buy my jigheads with weedguards loose from Cadman on this board.  He has very reasonable prices.  Eventually I am going to pour my own, but it takes a bit of money to invest in that.  Powder paint from Janns Netcraft, skirts from fishingskirts.com.  I tie my skirts on with bowstring material so I don't use bands.

Hooks--Shorty's

Lead--anywhere I can hospitals (radio active med. containers), remodelers from old shower floors, tire shops, printing shops, etc

Skirts--fishing skirts.com by the 100 ct.

Weedguards-- Do-It

Powder--Pro Tech by the pound

You got it!  By the tab.

I typically use 2 1/2-3 tabs per jig to make a full skirt.
