My gaskets on my rod compartment has come off, I was thinking about trying two sided tape.has any one tried it & did it work & got any good ideals, money is real tight ?

Try an auto parts store. Look for a glue to bond rubber to metal

Did the whole strip come off or just the top of the seal?

I find that marine silicone works very well as an adhesive.

Just a little here and a little there works very well.

Weather stripping adhesive.  Available at most if not all auto parts stores.
