We had a discussion on this board a while back about how keeping more dinks can lead to more trophies. I tried hard to find this video then, but was unable. It just came across the BR FaceBook feed. Having chased the world record largemouth bass for about 45 years I can tell you it's impossible to predict where and when these giant bass populations will show up. When a lake is on get out on the water as often as possible because these rare bass populations don't last long and may never return!

Yes, a lot of people mistakenly think it should be criminal to take a bass out of the water as if its life is more valuable than a crappie's or catfish's. They've bought into what BASS and FLW drilled into our heads for 30+ years. There's NOTHING WRONG AND SOMETHING RIGHT about keeping and eating a smallish-to-medium bass. And they're tasty!

I'm a CnR fisherman. It should be criminal to take a bass in excess of 14" out of the water. Instead, the geniuses in charge of management here in the state of PA have gotten it backwards, and have made it illegal(criminal) to take bass under 15". We are losing the most important bass from our waters, and they refuse to admit it.

We have a 21 inch minimum to keep a bass here in omaha...was always 15 until a couple years ago, i dont see how its gonna help but i dont have a fisheries biology degree...

14"s are considered small here too.

That's why I jig fish.... A lot.... Strikes are from healthier bigger fish usually in the 16 inch range but then again I get bored fishing alone and bring a cat pole with me while practice at the lake.

I never get bored fishing. Even when they don't bite. If I didn't have family obligations, I'd probably fish 4-5 days/week.
