Tenacity
I kinda always looked at it this way. I’ve always looked up to Van Dam and I can’t tell you how many videos, events or slips I’ve seen of him loading a fish or something along those lines and not even been phased by it. If he’s fighting to get checks bc that’s his job then what am I crying about? Just say to myself what could I have done better or do I even know? No? Oh well nothing you can do now except cry about it or grow and learn. Be better then You were yesterday.

Best way to improve?
2 scenarios I implicate and 1 i use most of the time. 1. when i want to get better at a technique i bring that and only that technique. forces me to fish that. yes, i have days where I do this and realize ya this isn't going to work but it teaches me to learn that bait, how to work it, ya know the ins and outs all while dedicating myself to that technique which is why i have so much faith in 6-10: swimbaits. 2. i bring that technique with and old faithful senko style bait or fluke style bait. the first scenario may be too much for someone, i have no issues doing it which is why sometimes i do scenario 2. 3....the one i use the most. for my trips i always bring my search bait, my slow down pick apart the area when i find fish bait, a finesse bait, and a top water. This way im not limited but have choices. Now at least 1 of these sometimes 2 will be something I'm not great with. may look like this: 1. crankbait - jig - ned rig(working on this) - plopper 2. spinnerbait - big texas baits 12" or bigger(to be more confident) - tiny 4-5" shakey(I dont like small baits for shakey)- frog

Soft Plastic Swim Bait Sizing for Prespawn ?
I rotate a 2.8 easy shiner or fat impact, to a 4" of either of those, and a 6" bait like a magdraft. they usually tell me what they want.

Jerkbait Revelation Today
I think most of us have a revelation on this type of scenario. one day I got super angry fishing it slow and so I started a cadence of pop pop pop pause pop pause pop pop that eventually made me angry bc I felt they should be where I was. It went from pops to aggressive F-it F-it F-it repeatedly like 5-7 times In row before the pause and all fish that day would rip the rod out of my hand.

What is your fishing Dogma?
Chartreuse at night is a game changer always have pliers clipped to my belt when I’m fishing trebled baits Unpopular opinion more theory I believe in when I’m fishing is “fish aren’t smart….they are predators that are very curious”. So don’t over think stuff. bottom baits i try to contrast the bottom. Meaning weedy green stuff and I’m throwing an opposite like white or chartreuse. If I think natural is the way to go I go Junebug or a Green pumpkin but I want it to sparkle or flash of I don’t have my dedicated cranking rod I will not crank for them. I’ll go chatterbait or spinner. A great cranking rod will tell you everything you need to know about what’s going on with your bait from side to side motion, did you run into weeds, did a fish just swim up on my bait and eat it / swipe it.

Higher end plastics
The arms don't move much so you can even punch with these.... I just put a little weight on them if near cover and then twitch it then lift up repeat and after twice no bite.... Move on but where I live they take it in the initial fall

Higher end plastics
And I wasn't ripping you just saying they are good to me... If us still got them flip them or jig trailer.

Spinnerbait and Fluke recommendations.
My go to spinnerbaits are booyah 3/8 and some of the mini pond magic ones. Mid the bigger 3/8 isn't getting me bites I'll drop to the lighter one and can pick a few fish up. as for fluke colors... Hard to beat white if you have shad in your lakes if not I just mimic my forage and get as close to bluegil and crappie.... The smoke color works good.

Just Got My First Flippin Stck...What Now???
I honestly just flip and pitch plastics...... I like slim baits like beavers, craw ext nc there are less to get hung up on. But really us gotta try some things, I really love brush hogs, dbombs, destroyers.... I just go and decide this. It comes down to confidence really.

Higher end plastics
I beg to differ with the havoc pit bosses.... I flip and pitch with these and absolutely kill fish.... I think a lot of stuff comes down to confidence. But then again someday a I have to use something else for bites.

Favorite "finesse swimbaits"
Weightless money minnow Ina bluegill pattern

New to swimbaits!
Ok the flukes imo are not swimbaits.... Those are to be used as soft jerk baits. Now I never use swimbaits with weighted hooks like yours and I prefer to use swimbaits hooks. I really don't worry about snags with these and if I am,. There's probably a better application to use. They will have a slight rock(check YouTube) there are many videos to show rigging options and action in the water. Mine have some rock to them and they work amazing for me! This atleast is what I see with yum money minnows and the SK shadalicious swimbaits.

One spinnerbait for shallow weedy lake
If you have super clear try burning a 3/8oz by their faces in a white bleeding or white / char combo. By doing this the bass will have less time to react and you'll probably get a reaction bite. If it's windy which is what I really like I can fish it closer to the surface and they won't get a good look at it and I'll get bit. That's what works for me!!

question on lipless cranks
I just buy them and test them all out but the common factor for me is colors! I love shad, chartreuse, bluegill/crappie, and craw colors mainly. But I will say some of my favorite lakes are pressured big time and if I see loads of traffic or Simone in my spots I'll follow them up with a silent crankbait and usually kill them.

A little help on fishing points from the bank
And that is.... I'm no pro obviously just what I was always told growing up.

A little help on fishing points from the bank
I was always told to fish with the sun in your face for that purpose bc with it behind you it casts your shadow. But i guess if your mainly fishing the morning and evening it's not so important

Fishing with kids tips/tricks
I have three year old that we took with us when we're trying to kill time because he always saw me catch fish and wanted to fish so why not. Put some floaters on him just incase and one we went. Got him a ice fishing pole bc it's more sensitive then a Micky mouse pole and a year later I will say this "he'll give some 5-8year olds a run for their money". For those who think he's to young. This was our decision as parents and it was a good one. He's never caught anything other then small bass or bluegills and always at the same place but someday he'll wanna catch the big boys and I'll introduce frogging and punching to him. I always fished off this dock and I can see when I get bit. So I told him when you feel that... Set the hook and he's got it.

Bank Fishing At Park Lakes
Keeper...... I second this.... I can bet a lot of these guys aren't throwing a drop shot, or a soft jerk bait of some sort. Also if the water is big, the channels which the fish travel along all day at be to far out to reach for post spawn which is what I'm in rigjt now and some on the tail end of spawning. But nonetheless be different. And if your only getting that one bite a day..... What size are you throwing? Maybe your baits bigger then the forage. I have a town lake that's not pressured at all and no matter what spinner or crank I toss I won't get bit unless I drop down to 1/4oz spinner or an inline. And even then I can still stick a 3lber. Maybe you could also try a big swimbait. I know nobody throws big swimbait in my lakes. Maybe it will bring out a bigger fish. Or like said before.....find a different lake.

Cheap Baitcasting Combos Under $100
I say get a 50 dollar basspro tourney special which is a great graphite rod(for the money and light weight) and the pair it with a bait cast that isn't junk. I've been punching with the heavy for almost a year and in still amazed at the abuse I've put it through. I also have a 7ft medhvy i pitch into grass and use soft plastics with. I enjoy them a lot. But don't get me wrong I don't use them I tournaments.... I've got better
